HUNTSVILLE, AL - On Tuesday, August 25, 2009, military shelter and trailer manufacturer DHS Systems LLC celebrated the production and delivery of its 2,500th Trailer Mounted Support System (TMSS) to the United States Army. The milestone was marked with an event at the company’s manufacturing facility in Huntsville, Alabama.

The 3rd (UK) Division held its annual Iron Triangle exercise on April 23 - May 6. During the event, the Divisional Headquarters evaluated its command and control capabilities, as well as the ability of its lower brigades to take part in a joint operation.

DHS Technologies’ international subsidiary MilSys (UK) Ltd recently unveiled the Deployable Sanitation Unit (DSU), a mobile unit that combines three waterless urinals and two low water flush toilets in one complete unit.

ORANGEBURG, NEW YORK - The Brazilian State of Rio de Janeiro has awarded military contracting company DHS Systems LLC and Brazilian medical supply distributor Oscar Iskin a $1.2 million contract to initially provide two mobile field hospitals for use during large-scale disasters. 

DRASH has been awarded the Contractors Logistics Support (CLS) contract for the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence (UK MoD). The agreement was reached through DHS Technologies' international subsidiary MilSys (UK) Ltd .

The start of 2009 saw several changes to DHS Systems’ line of DRASH Utility Shelter Transport (UST) trailers. The alterations were made in an effort to standardize the product line.

DHS Systems LLC recently unveiled several changes to their Deployable Rapid Assembly Shelter (DRASH) Deployable Command and Control Equipment (DC2E). 

Throughout Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, local samba schools compete in parades at the Sambódromo on Avenida Marques de Sapucaí. Wearing ornate costumes and playing and dancing to music, members of the samba schools perform for hours each night despite temperatures as high as 90 degrees and severe humidity.

For a second consecutive year, DHS Systems lent support to New Orleans’ Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness during the city’s weeklong Mardi Gras celebration.

On February 5th, the 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division (5/2 SBCT) began their harshest mission yet. The Stryker Brigade was not traveling through the mountains of Afghanistan or across Iraq, however. They were taking part in a mission rehearsal exercise at the Army’s National Training Center (NTC) in the Mojave Desert.

On December 17th, the 5th Brigade Combat Team attended a demo held by DRASH representatives at Fort Bliss.

On September 22, 2008, DHS Systems received a contract worth up to $1.8 million to support Iraqi Army personnel stationed just outside of the Iraqi border in Um Kasar.

DHS Systems founder and Chief Executive Officer A. Jon Prusmack was recently elected as a formal member of the Small Business and Agriculture Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

With a core mission to protect the U.S. Postal Service from criminal attack and misuse, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) is responsible for safeguarding more than 200 billion pieces of mail, as well as protecting 700,000-plus postal employees, about 38,000 postal facilities, 200,000-plus postal vehicles, postal assets, and millions of postal customers each year. 

DHS Systems recently conducted system training for its HP-2C/308 Intelligent Trailer at Fort Bliss, Texas. The exercise, held December 8-12, featured a digitally controlled Battery Support Center trailer designed to offer power and environmental control to shelters under the Intelligent Trailer program.

Working with local agencies, Connecticut’s Department of Public Health provided two of its DRASH shelters to serve as a command post and first aid station to help the various first responder units at “A Salute to all of Connecticut’s Veterans.”  The shelters were originally purchased in 2005 to be part of the State’s 14,000 square foot Ottilie W. Lundgren Mobile field hospital.

DRASH was on site to support the Texas National Guard’s 36th Infantry Division at Soto Cano AB, Honduras during the Fuerzas Aliades Panamax exercise.

DRASH recently provided several shelters and generators at the Democratic National Convention.

The DRASH Heater and UST trailer line have undergone significant engineering enhancements in the third quarter of this year.

When Hurricane Gustav blew ashore around 9:30 am on September 1, 2008 near Cocodrie, Louisiana, a low lying community 72 miles southwest of New Orleans, forecasters feared that it would remain a Category 2 hurricane, blowing winds at over 100 mph. But just four hours later, it had dropped to a Category 1 as it steamed inland towards Texas.

When Hurricane Dolly arrived on the Gulf Coast on the morning of July 23, the Category 1 hurricane was expected to dump up to 15 inches of rain, breach levees along the heavily populated Rio Grande valley and turn into a Category 2 with wind speeds of up to 96 mph.

ORANGEBURG, NY – Military contracting companies Northrop Grumman Corporation and Rockland County, NY based DHS Technologies have been awarded a contract worth up to $240 million to provide medium and large, high-mobility tactical operations centers that can be rapidly deployed for command, control and communications on the battlefield.

The National Guard’s first unit dedicated solely to emergency preparedness and disaster relief performed its first tactical operations command (TOC) exercise using DRASH command and control shelters in May this year.

DRASH business development representative Kevin Shirey has had his hands full coordinating the set up and placement of DRASH shelters throughout the 25th Annual Best Ranger event held at Fort Benning, GA from April 18 - 20.

Several DRASH Systems were used during two National Guard-hosted, large-scale earthquake response exercises, held from April 21 – 23 in Beauford County, South Carolina and in Shelby County, Tennessee. The Deployable Rapid Assembly Shelter (DRASH) System has become the system of choice for the 32nd Army Air Missile Defence Command (AAMDC).

HUNTSVILLE, AL – On Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at 10 am, military contracting company DHS Systems held a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open one of its manufacturing facilities in Huntsville, Alabama.

Fictitious coalition forces representing Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and Special Operations from 13 countries gathered for a large-scale joint exercise in Cairo, Egypt during the week of November 12 last year.

In late October last year, some 24 fires consumed over 516,000 acres from Santa Barbara to San Diego County, California, devastating wildlife and leaving tens of thousands Americans homeless. With the National Guard, came the Guard’s DRASH shelters, trailers and ancillary equipment to act as headquarter facilities, grievance shelters and security hubs.

Testing and initial training of PSYOP’S latest mobile printing facility, the DRASH POPS-L, was recently completed in early November this year.

DRASH was featured durinig the military’s recent Golden Medic annual joint medical exercise this year.
