DRASH Equipment

Founded in 1984 under the name Deployable Hospital Systems (DHS Systems), DRASH™ parent company DHS Technologies LLC initially specialized in providing quickly deployable, lightweight field hospitals. Since then, the company has evolved to become recognized around the world as the leader in soft-walled shelter technology and support equipment.

Here are some of the significant events in the company's history:

  • 1984, Deployable Hospital Systems founded
  • 1986, the first prototype DRASH™ shelter produced
  • 1988, the company opens its first factory and hires its first employees
  • 1991, the Austrian Army provides the company with its first significant order
  • 1992, the company receives its first big U.S. Military order from the Marine Corps
  • 1993, annual sales exceed $1 million
  • 1995, Deployable Hospital Systems becomes DHS Systems LLC
  • April 1996, the company moves to its current 110,000 square foot headquarters and manufacturing facility in Orangeburg, NY 
  • December 1999, sales exceed $10 million
  • January 2004, DHS Systems International Ltd, then known as MilSys (UK) Ltd, is established as the company's international subsidiary, serving customers located outside of the United States
  • July 2004, global private equity firm, the Carlyle Group, becomes an investor in the company and DHS Technologies LLC is founded
  • January 2005, the company purchases Reeves Manufacturing - now known as Reeves™ EMS - to expand its sales to the homeland security market
  • September 2005, the company introduces its line of DRASH™ Deployable Command and Control Equipment (DC2E)
  • January 2009, more than 17,000 DRASH shelters and over 7,500 trailers in service across the globe with the U.S. Military and NATO
  • November 2009, more than 3,000 DC2E units in use around the world
